Our RIBB friends are again visiting the UK for capacity building and to deliver outreach programs at schools!

Suvechhya Bastola and Rojlina Manandhar are in Edinburgh for two weeks on a capacity building program, funded by Applied Microbiology International, where they will be learning about molecular biology and protein biochemistry to implement those techniques at the Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology and continue their characterisation of the unique Nepalese microbiota.

While Suvechhya and Rojlina are in Scotland they also wanted to conduct several workshops at our Scottish partner schools, so they visited Stobhill Primary School and Goreglen Primary school in Midlothian (Scotland).

Through the workshops they organised, participants learned about microbes. We used microscopes to look at microbes and plasticine to model them and understand more about them. We also learned about how to keep bad microbes away by washing our hands. And we also made soap!
