New workshop: Turning Trash into Treasure
On Friday 22nd of November at 8am UK time/1.45 pm Nepal time we will be running the online session ‘Turning Trash into Treasure’ delivered by Lakshmi Mahato, former Monastic Higher Secondary English Boarding school student.
This session will focus on repurposing waste materials into valuable items through creativity and resourcefulness. Participants will be encouraged to find innovative ways to recycle or upcycle discarded objects, transforming them into educational resources, artistic, or useful products. The session will emphasise on sustainability, reducing environmental impact, and fostering a mindset of seeing potential in what is commonly perceived as garbage. It will serve as a practical and educational experience, highlighting the benefits of eco-friendly practices and inspiring creativity.
Lakshmi Mahato has just completed her schooling from Monastic Higher Secondary English Boarding school (Janakpur, Nepal). She is now pursuing her career in Agriculture science and will be starting her degree soon. Lakshmi is an environmentalist interested in creative activities. She was the speaker for one of our Women in STEM sessions and this gave her the confidence to volunteer to lead this session where she can share her ideas with students all over Nepal.
She says: Let’s embark on this Journey together towards a more sustainable future.
If you are not part of our network of schools and would like to attend this workshop, please email us at info@engagewithscience.org and we will send you the link.
