Dr. Shishir Gokhale, MBBS, MD is a professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology and Director of Basic Sciences at Manipal College of Medical Sciences (Pokhara, Nepal). He is also serving as the Country Ambassador for Nepal of The American Society for Microbiology. Shishir is a recognized Graduate and Post Graduate teacher and examiner for various universities in India and Nepal. He is utilizing all his experience and knowledge in shaping the future of undergraduate and post graduate students and promoting microbiology from grass-root to post graduate levels. He is a member of the core committee on curriculum development for Kathmandu University and Pokhara University. His quest has contributed to the changes in teaching learning activities and restructuring the graduate and post graduate level curriculum of Nepalese universities.
