Building a research ecosystem in Nepal

Today we brought together researchers from Nepal, Nepal scientific diaspora in the UK and UK-based researchers working on projects linked to Nepal through an event called ‘Building a Research Ecosystem in Nepal’.

This event aimed to bring together the Nepal scientific diaspora in the UK and UK-based researchers working in Nepal to showcase collaborative Nepal-UK research activities and promote networking.

The objectives of the seminar were:

1. To showcase collaborative Nepal-UK research and public engagement activities to a greater audience in Edinburgh.
2. To strengthen the collaboration with UK partners and find ways to apply to UK funding systems.
3. To support and raise Endowment funds for RIBB’s research, development and innovation (RD&I) initiatives in Nepal.

Great ideas on how to build a research ecosystem and how to boost research culture in Nepal were shared and great collaborations were established! Looking forward to the outcomes of this event in years to come!
